Shinta Mani Hotel Siem Reap is proud to announce the re-launch of Well Made In Cambodia a new weekend market & street fair, commencing Saturday, Saturday 30th August 2014 (then each and every Saturday & Sunday) . Free & open to the public, this event will be held on the street in front of Shinta Mani Hotel Siem Reap every Saturday & Sunday from 4-9 PM.
Well Made In Cambodia will bring together the most exciting examples of craftsmanship in Cambodia today. Internationally recognized artisans and designers participating include Cambolac, Eric Stocker Laquer & Textures, Saomao, Grace Gecko Creations and much more.
Those who attend Well Made In Cambodia will have the opportunity to purchase fine quality artisan products & luxury goods that redefine what it means to be made in Cambodia today. Each item for sale has been produced by a new generation of talented Cambodians. The greatest benefit of Well Made In Cambodia will be to these Cambodians, including many in need, through both direct income and skills development. Live entertainment, artist workshops and wholesome food will round out the market’s festive & diverse offerings.
Footsteps from the tranquil riverfront, Shinta Mani Hotel Siem Reap offers authentic Khmer hospitality in 39 contemporary guestrooms and public spaces designed by renowned architect Bill Bensley who took inspiration from the nearby temples of Angkor Wat. Guest stays and private donations fund The Shinta Mani Foundation, a locally registered not for profit that supports the community through small business startup loans and healthcare programs
as well as through the Development Center. This purpose built facility within the hotel’s leafy grounds provides free hospitality training to less fortunate members of the Siem Reap community.
